چکیده

Researchers surveyed school board members in North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and Louisiana to determine board members’ perceptions of their boards’ overall performance and effectiveness in various performance domains. Mean performance ratings from the four states were evaluated to identify differences in performance ratings by state and domain. Relationships among performance ratings and board member attributes were analyzed. Board members rated the performance of their boards positively. Ratings in some states were significantly different from those in other states. There were few statistically significant correlations between board member demographic characteristics and ratings of board performance.
